About Me!
I live in Cornwall in view of the sometimes tempestuous sea. I have a home studio where I can work and create my lampwork beads, sometimes turning them into pieces of jewellery. Sometimes just sending them out into the world for someone else to work their magic on them.
I began my beady journey with lessons in beadwork from Jill Thomas at GJBeads of St.Ives. There I learned all the different stitches involved in making wonderful pieces, many of them designed by Jill. I came across some lampwork beads when I was attending a trade show in Birmingham. There sat a lady from Sweden making 'Troll' beads. I was captivated. I did some research and found the name of Diana East. I came across her name in nearly every book I researched. How happy was I when I found she taught workshops AND lived in the UK, Leicester to be exact. Off I went with some good friends, we took a two day workshop and I have never looked back!Four months later, having set up my workshop and had a good few hours playing with my new toys, I took myself off, back to Diana's wonderful studio and took another two day workshop. How lucky am I? Not only was Diana teaching, but Sally Carver (aka RedHotSal) was also teaching the class with her. I had a wonderful time at the workshop, and made some new friends, Helen Gorick is one (HelenGBeads). This weekend I am off to another workshop with Laura Sparling at Fire-Works in Bristol. And so the journey continues, and I am loving every minute of it, I hope my enjoyment reflects in my work.
About What's On Offer!

My lampwork beads are supplied to clever people who use them in their own designs and make wonderful jewellery with them. However if you would like to have beads assembled into jewellery for you, please email me and we can arrange a piece just for you. If there is anything in my gallery you really admire, sadly the gallery items are all sold, but perhaps I can create a similar item for you, once again, just email me.
Here I have to add a special thank you to Alison Brown, who lives here in Cornwall. As you will see in my gallery, Alison has bought zillions of my beads . She has created some stunning pieces with them. Thank you for your vision Alison.
No beads can be exactly copied, that is the nature of handmade, but I will try to make similar items if you have something you have set your heart on.
About The Beads!
All my beads are made with my trusty torch (Maurice), then full kiln annealed in my digitally controlled kiln(Kitty). After sleeping overnight in the kiln, they are taken off the mandrels and carefully cleaned with my handy litlle dremel(Drusus). They are then washed and carefully dried and usually temporarily strung on ribbons or beading wire while they await their journey to their new owner. With a little tender loving care, your beads should last for generations to come(certainly longer than I will last). However, do remember, they are glass and care should be taken when making jewellery for children, also tiny beads tend to get into tiny mouths.
